Welcoming the Swiss Airlines Innovation and Operations Team to GLC Cape Town

Today, GLC had the pleasure of hosting 11 team members from the Swiss Airlines Innovation and Operations division at our Cape Town Head Office. The visit formed part of their broader team workshop in South Africa and provided an opportunity for collaboration, knowledge sharing and operational insight across both organisations.

An afternoon of learning and operational exchange

The visit began with a welcome and introductory session, followed by an in-depth look at how GLC supports the Lufthansa Group and other airlines, such as Singapore Airlines and Virgin  Atlantic, remotely from our Cape Town and Belgrade sites. Our guests spent the afternoon rotating through several of our core business areas, which included:

  • Centralised Load Control (CLC)

  • Operational Support Specialists (OSS)

  • Remote Business Centre (RBC)

  • Auxiliary Services

Each rotation offered the Swiss Airlines team a firsthand view of our operational processes, technology platforms and real-time support structures that enable safe, efficient and consistent airline operations across the Lufthansa Group network.

Strengthening collaboration within the Lufthansa Group

The sessions opened the door for deeper discussion and created valuable touchpoints to explore how remote support models can support future collaboration and continued service excellence.

A warm exchange between teams

We truly enjoyed meeting the Swiss Airlines team in person and appreciated the engaging conversations, thoughtful questions and the genuine interest they showed in our operation and people. We were also delighted with the authentic Swiss chocolates they brought along, which our team thoroughly enjoyed.
