Empowering Learning Through Hands-On Training: GLC’s Ramp Day Experience in Belgrade

At Global Load Control (GLC), we believe in the power of hands-on experiences to foster collaboration, deepen understanding, and enhance the skills of our team. Recently, colleagues from our Belgrade office had the unique opportunity to participate in Ramp Day training at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport. This immersive experience offered firsthand insight into the intricacies of live aircraft turnaround operations.

While not a first-time experience for all participants, Ramp Day is a regular initiative at GLC, designed to connect our team with the operational environment they support daily. With the invaluable collaboration of our Lufthansa partners, the event provided a platform for our operations experts to learn, engage, and strengthen relationships with ground teams they usually interact with remotely.

Bridging Gaps Between Remote and Ground Operations
During the training, our team observed how their work integrates seamlessly with ramp, check-in, and cargo operations. This on-the-ground perspective is crucial for understanding the broader aviation ecosystem and the role each department plays in ensuring safe and efficient flights.

Andjela Stefanovic, our Centre Manager in Belgrade, emphasized the importance of such initiatives:

“Visiting the ramp is invaluable—it reinforces how the pieces of our daily work connect and highlights how our efforts contribute to safe and efficient flights.”

Collaboration in Action
The success of this Ramp Day was made possible thanks to the dedication and support of key partners. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Svetlana Brkovic, LH Duty Manager, and Jelena Micic, BEG Station Manager, for their exceptional planning and organization. Their commitment ensured a meaningful and enriching experience for all involved.

Driving Excellence Through Immersion
These hands-on experiences are more than just training—they are opportunities to boost learning, enhance teamwork, and build stronger connections between remote and ground operations. By understanding the challenges and demands of each role, our team is better equipped to collaborate effectively, delivering service excellence from the ramp to the skies.

At GLC, we’re proud to invest in our people, fostering a culture of continuous learning and collaboration. Thank you to everyone who made this Ramp Day a success!
