Yesterday, GLC celebrated Heritage Day with a vibrant and flavourful showcase of our Rainbow Nation’s rich diversity. It was a joyful event where our Belgrade colleagues joined in, adding their own touch to the celebration. Together, we shared a delicious variety of Serbian and South African dishes, each plate telling a unique story of culture and tradition.
At GLC, diversity is not just a value—it’s the heart of who we are. Our global team is made up of 12 nationalities. We speak 20 languages, ranging from the 11 official South African languages like Xhosa, Zulu, and Sotho, to widely spoken global languages such as German, Serbian, Spanish, French, Russian, and Ukrainian. This rich tapestry of languages, nationalities, and cultures brings a unique depth to everything we do.
Heritage Day reminded us of the power of inclusion and how understanding each other’s backgrounds and traditions helps foster stronger connections. At GLC, we are committed to tolerance, inclusion, and non-discrimination, creating a workplace where everyone feels valued and embraced.
By sharing the stories behind each dish and learning more about one another’s heritage, we’ve not only celebrated diversity but also strengthened the bonds that make us a truly global team.
