In April 2026, colleagues from Global Load Control (GLC) joined the Help Alliance OnSite Event in Seeheim, bringing together the Lufthansa Group’s global community for two days of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and inspiration.
Representing GLC were Safeerah Amod-Jassiem and Mbongeni Ngcobo from Cape Town, alongside Paul Havenga from Windhoek and John Letting from Zanzibar. Their participation reflects the truly international footprint of GLC and our commitment to engaging with communities across regions.
A Global Platform for Collaboration
The Help Alliance OnSite Event is designed to bring together community leaders and project coordinators from across the Lufthansa Group. It provides a platform to exchange ideas, reflect on challenges, and explore new ways to enhance the impact of social engagement initiatives.
Over the course of the event, participants engaged in the following:
- Interactive workshops focused on strengthening community engagement and awareness
- Open discussions on shared challenges across projects and regions
- Opportunities to exchange best practices and learn from diverse perspectives
This collaborative environment enables teams to continuously evolve how projects are delivered and how impact is measured and communicated.
Showcasing Impact Across Communities
A highlight of this year’s event was the introduction of a Bazaar, where products created through Help Alliance projects were showcased. This initiative provided a tangible connection to the communities supported and highlighted the real-world outcomes of these efforts.
The event also featured a cultural performance by the South African Ubomi Youth programme, offering a powerful reminder of the human impact behind these initiatives and the importance of investing in future generations.
What This Means for GLC and Our Partners
While the event centres on social engagement, its relevance extends beyond community initiatives.
At GLC, our strength lies in our people and our global network. Events like this reinforce the following:
- A strong, connected international team across Cape Town, Windhoek, Zanzibar, and beyond
- A culture of collaboration and continuous learning
- Alignment with Lufthansa Group values, including responsibility, sustainability, and long-term impact
GLC actively supports Help Alliance initiatives, including projects in South Africa, reinforcing our commitment to creating meaningful, local impact within the communities where we operate.
For our airline partners, this translates into working with a team that is not only operationally strong but also globally connected, culturally aware, and aligned with a broader purpose.
Looking Ahead
The Help Alliance OnSite Event continues to play an important role in shaping how the Lufthansa Group approaches social responsibility. By bringing together diverse teams and perspectives, it enables meaningful progress and lasting impact.
GLC remains proud to contribute to this global community, reinforcing our belief that strong partnerships, whether operational or social, are built on collaboration, shared values, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
