This past week, GLC (Global Load Control) proudly participated in the 7th African Ground Handling International (GHI) Conference, held in Nairobi. Representing GLC were Markus Becker (Managing Director) and Yolanda Bilang Haynes (Business Relationship Manager), who actively engaged with airlines and ground handlers from across the continent.
The GHI Africa Conference provided an excellent platform for connecting with industry professionals, sharing insights, and exploring how GLC’s expertise in remote aviation services can support the growing aviation sector in Africa.

Fostering Collaboration and Innovation
Over two action-packed days, Markus and Yolanda joined discussions with key players in the aviation industry, focusing on collaboration and operational excellence. The event offered a chance to:
- Showcase GLC’s leadership in centralised load control (CLC) and other remote aviation services, including special service request (SSR) management and the Remote Business Centre (RBC).
- Learn about the unique challenges and opportunities within the African aviation market.
- Explore potential partnerships with airlines and ground handling providers in the region.
Markus Becker reflected on the event:
“The GHI Africa Conference provided an incredible forum for fostering partnerships and exchanging ideas that will shape the future of aviation in the region. It was inspiring to see so much potential and enthusiasm for innovation.”
GLC’s Vision for Africa
While GLC does not yet have African airline clients, we are eager to partner with carriers across the continent to deliver world-class remote aviation services. By collaborating with African airlines, we aim to support their operations with our expertise in centralised load control (CLC), special service request (SSR) management, and the Remote Business Centre (RBC). Our goal is to help streamline operations, enhance safety, and improve customer satisfaction, contributing to the growth of Africa’s aviation industry.
Gratitude to GHI
A heartfelt thank you to the Ground Handling International (GHI) team for organising such a well-executed and insightful event. The connections made and ideas shared during the conference reaffirm GLC’s dedication to expanding partnerships and driving progress in the aviation industry.
Looking Ahead
As GLC continues to explore opportunities in Africa, we look forward to building relationships with airlines and ground handlers across the region. Together, we aim to set new standards of excellence in remote aviation services and drive sustainable growth in the industry.
